offers college scholarships of $2,500, $10,000 and $25,000 to high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their activities in school, the community or the workplace. Plus, a $1,000 grant will be made to every scholarship winner's school.

The ACT Student Champion Award recognizes one student in each state who is tenacious and persistent, no matter the challenge, and is prepared for life after high school with a goal in mind and plan in place.
ACT Student Champions receive a $500 non-renewable scholarship, certificate, plaque, and state-level recognition.
Please encourage students in the graduating class of 2018 who have taken the ACT who fit the following criteria to apply:
  • A student who has overcome challenges and can articulate education and career actions
  • Students must have a composite ACT score of a 22 on a single test date or a 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale
  • Preference will be given to underrepresented and/or first-generation college students.
Applications can be found at www.act.org/readinesschampions. Applications are due December 31, 2017, and champions will be notified on or before April 2, 2018. If applicants are under the age of 18, they must complete this form in addition to the application.
 

Ohio JCI Senate Charitable and Education Foundation scholarship program

The Ohio JCI Senate C & E Foundation is made up of the life members of the Ohio JCI Senate who were members of the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees).  You will have two (2) categories to choose from :

CATEGORY 1 – Academic-Based

CATEGORY 2 – Need-Based

In the Academic-Based, first place and second place will receive $1,000.00. In addition, first and second place in Category 1 will be submitted to the US JCI Senate Foundation scholarship program and could be selected as one of the twenty (20) $1,000.00 scholarships that they will be awarding this year.

In the Need-Based there will be five (5) winners selected with each receiving $1,000.00 scholarship.  One (1) is the “Morgan Jones Memorial Scholarship” sponsored by the Ohio JCI Senate, and an additional four (4) of which one (1) scholarship will be given to a student who is a resident in one of the following counties: Allen, Putnam or Van Wert.

The deadline for submitting applications is January 13, 2018. Judging will take place by January 31, 2018. Winners will be notified by letter.  

is awarded by the Ohio Association for College Admission Counseling each year to outstanding high school seniors. The scholarship is a one-time $1,500 award.
STUDENT CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY:
This scholarship is awarded to students who meet the following criteria:
Demonstrate and show a continued commitment to cultural and intellectual diversity
Attend an OACAC member high school. Just one HS counselor needs to be a member to qualify.
Have an accumulated grade point average of 3.00 or better on a 4.00 scale in a college preparatory curriculum
Required to attend an Ohio college or university
Submit the Charles L. Warren Memorial Heritage Scholarship application, an official high school transcript, a counselor recommendation and a personal statement by the published deadline:  January 19, 2018
 
Ohio Society Daughters of the American Revolution 
The OSDAR awards the "Wings of Eagles" scholarship to graduating high school seniors in the amount of $1,000.  Awards are based on academic excellence and financial need.  Applicants must be citizens of the US and legal residents of the state of Ohio and must attend an accredited college or university in the US.  Stop in the SHS Guidance Office for an application.
Deadline:  February 10, 2018
 
 
WACE National Co-Op Scholarship  - awards up to 160 merit co-op scholarships for a total value of $4,200,000. These merit co-op scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors and transfer students who plan to participate in college cooperative education at one of our Partner Institutions: Clarkson, Drexel, Merrimack, Rochester Inst. of Technology, Oswego, Univ. of Toledo, Univ. of Cincinnati, Univ. of Massachussetts Lowell, and Wentworth Inst. of Technology. Applicants must apply to one of these institutions and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better.
Deadline: Feb. 15, 2018
 
The NSDAR offers scholarships in many different majors.  Go to www.DAR.org and under the 'National Society' tab, select 'General Information' in the third column under 'scholarships'. Download both forms.

Jared Mansfield Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution 
This scholarship of $300 is open to any student attending OSU-Mansfield or NCSC for any field of study, or the Dwight Schar College of Nursing, Mansfield.  Stop in the SHS Guidance for application requirements.
